Chapter 1 and 2 ;What is History?- the record and the study of past human events that have shaped the way the wold is today.

What is a primary source?Give examples of primary sources. - Primary sources are imformation provided by people who were involved in historical events or who witnessed the events. Eg. Written evidence, Oral evidence, Pictorial evidence, Artefacts.

What is a secondary source? Give examples of secondary sources.- Secondary sources are the records of people who did not directly participate in or witness the even they describe. Eg. Books, Journal articles, Essays, Films, Documentaries and Cartoons.

What are artefacts? Give examples of artefacts.- Artefacts are items that were made and used b the people of the past. Eg. Tools, Jewellery.

What are 4 types of evidences? - Written evidence , Pictorial evidence , Oral evidence and Artefact.

What is difference between facts and opinions?- Fact passes the three Cs test and Opinions don't passes all the three Cs test so it's not reliable to use opinion as the story might not be true but Facts is reliable as the information is true.

How we evaluate evidences by using 3Cs?- Using Credibility, Consistency, Corroboration. Credibility - If Historians suspect that the person has any reason to lie or exaggerate, the evidence may be considered unreliable. Consistency - Historian ask whether the evidence is consistent by considering if it contains statements that have similar meanings. Corroboration- Somthing that is said or reported means to provide information to support it.

Why we study history?- History helps us to understand why things are the way they are today. We can learn important lessons from the past. To understand why and how they did the things that they did. To understand and respect others who did things differently from us.

What is meaning of dynasty?- A line of rulers from one family or the years of continuous rule by members of one family.

What is meaning of chronology?- The arrangement of past events starting with the event that occured first.

What is a timeline? CE and BCE. - A timeline is a sequence of events in chronological order. CE- CE is short for 'Common Era', 1CE is the year Jesus Christ was born. Therefore, 14CE is the 14th year after the birth of Jesus Christ. BCE- BCE is the short for 'Before Common Era', it refers to the number of years before the birth of Jesus Chirst. Eg of BCE. 206 BCE means 206 years before Jesus Chirst was born.

Chapter 3 ;
What is meaning of civilisation?- An advanced stage of human development where people live in cities and have an advanced culture.

How civilisation or villages are formed?- When a group of people come to live together and develop their own way of life, we say that they have the same culture. This usually means that they speak the same language, eat the same kinds of food, obey the same rules and laws and follow the same customs and traditions. When the culture has developed over a long time and becomes very advanced, we call it a civilisation.

Why most civilisation developed close to rivers and seas?-Rivers provide water for drinking and watering crops such as water and wheat. Rivers and seas provide fish, which was an important source of food. Rivers and seas provide a means of transport and trade. Soil around rivers are usually fertile and easy to plough.

Features of Indus Civilisation- How were stone seals used in the Indus Civilisation - The Indus Plain learned how to control and redirect water from the Indus River by building dams. They did that so that they could limit the damage caused by the overflowing of the Indus River, and use he water from the river to water the crops. The ruins of the Indus Valley Civilisation, it can be deduced that the city were incredibly well-planed. The stone seals were probably used as a form of personal identification.

Features of Shang Civilisation- What are oracle bones made of and used for?- Oracle bones were used by priests to tell the future. The Shang priest would be interpret craks(produced on the bones by applying heat) as giving answer to questions about the future. Such bones were also used to record names of rulers, family histories and events such as the eclipses of the sun and moon.

Two modern cities of Shang civilisation.-Anyang and Luoyang.

What are Longshan people best remembered for ?- Longshan people are best remembered today for their polished black pottery.

Chapter 4;
What is meaning of government?- It refers to the group of poelp responsible for ruling a coutry or how the people of the civilisations were ruled.

What is the meaning of monarchy?- A syste of government in which a king or queen rules a country.

System of government in ancient India Contributions of Chandragupta Maurya Feudal system in ancient China (feudalism)-

Why Qin Shihuang abolished feudalism ?- He wanted to bring China under a single, central rule.

What is mandate of heaven Contributions of Han Wudi ?-They believed that heaven would give its blessing to a good ruler.

What is the imperial service examination?- Imperial service examination is to test their understanding of subjects like law and history. It does not depend on attracting the best 'brains', and just the best 'blood'. Those man who did well in the examination were appointed to the civil service and were known as scholar-officials.

What is civil service?- The civil service of a country consists of the government departments and the people who work in them. The civil service had always consisted of members belonging to rich and powerful families.

Chapter 5;
What is a society?- A group of people who live under the same government and share common needs and practices.

What is meaning of hierarchy?- The ranking of classes in a social system.

What is meaning of caste system?- the strict division of Indian society into classes based on specific occupations.

Who were the pariahs?- (What's this uh?)

Who were the shudras?- Field labourers, craftmen.

Advantages and disadvantages of the caste system in ancient India Class system in ancient China-The ancient china can change job but the ancient India can't.

What is meaning of meritocracy?- A system in which people are given positions and rewards based on thier ability.

How to achieve social mobility in ancient China?- The people must work hard.
